Week 1

Week 1 is in the books. It went….well….it’s over.

Weight lost: 0 lbs.

What went right?

I managed to track all of my meals, snacks, and <cough> beers <cough>. I worked out most days. I actively prevented myself from overindulging on a number of occasions.

What didn’t go right?

Well, I probably had a few too many adult beverages and my overall calorie deficit for the week was a little smaller than I would’ve liked.

Overall, I am happy with my results from Week 1. Did I lose weight? No, but I made exercise a priority. I managed to get up and workout before work one day (I work early, so that’s something). At one point, I had racked up 10.1 miles of running within a 7-day period. That is big for me considering I’ve been nowhere near that recently. In addition, I ran a mile in under 11 minutes. Pretty much since the pandemic, my running ability has been – challenged to say the least. Without a Star Wars half marathon on my April calendar every year (thanks, Disney) – turns out my running motivation is non-existent.

All in all, I’m satisfied. I think this week will help kickstart the next few and success is on the horizon. It’s much easier to gain weight than to lose it – at least for me. Staying motivated will be key.

Until next time.
